Rockn’ Joe is
Coming to Point Pleasant
Purveyor of Specialty Coffees and Sandwiches
to Open Franchise by End of Year
NJ – August 23, 2005 – Rockn’ Joe Franchise
Systems, the franchise company of Rockn’ Joe Coffeehouse and Bistro,
today announced it signed a lease to open a 2,500-square-foot franchise
in Point Pleasant Borough, N.J.
Company officials announced
the Rockn’ Joe franchise will be located at 3121 Bridge Ave., a
former auto parts store that will be overhauled this fall. When the coffeehouse
is completed, it will feature a grand patio to accommodate 30 patrons.
Inside, designers are creating a large coffee bar and seating for 60 additional
“We’re so excited
to be bringing Rockn’ Joe to the Point Pleasant community,”
said Chee Phan, the franchise owner, noting the borough has been voted
a “Best Place to Live” by Money Magazine.
“This town has so much
to offer the family: fishing, bicycling, boating, swimming, sports, shopping
and the beaches,” Phan added. “Now, Point Pleasant will be
home to the best coffee, omelets, sandwiches and desserts around.”
Phan expects that 20 local
jobs will be created when the coffeehouse opens, noting the business will
be open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and for late-hour dining.
Kevin Brennan, CEO or Rockn’
Joe Franchise Systems, said he has retained coffee bar designers from
a Minnesota-based architecture firm to create the Point Pleasant coffeehouse.
The business will have a similar
look to the original Rockn’ Joe in Cranford. But, he said, due to
the expanded space, architects will be able to design a truly special
coffeehouse that does not exist in Ocean County.
“No doubt, our Point
Pleasant location will be a showplace for Rockn’ Joe,” said
Brennan, noting there will be 35 parking spots on-site. “Our coffeehouse
will have a beautiful and open floor plan, divided in sections, as well
as levels. It will be a place that will certainly generate plenty of positive
attention in Point Pleasant.”
Because the borough is known
as a family destination, Brennan said, the designers have included a children’s
area. While parents and older siblings enjoy the coffee and food, the
kids can be entertained by a host of games and other on-site attractions.
Phan said he was attracted
to Rockn’ Joe because it offers “the ideal business system,”
including a superior menu of food and drink, a well-designed floor plan,
attractive logos and other corporate identity, and a streamlined and simple
business system that can easily be followed.
“As soon as I met with
Kevin and toured his bustling coffeehouse, I knew it would be the perfect
fit for me and Point Pleasant,” Phan said. “Rockn’ Joe
is the type of franchise you are truly proud to own. It will be a place
where I want my friends and family to visit, and where I will enjoy going
to work everyday.”
Unlike stale theme restaurants,
where the experience runs its course after just one visit, Rockn’
Joe is the place that people want to visit often. It’s the local
place to listen to fun, upbeat rock music, from an eclectic collection
of music spanning the past 40 years. There is no rush to leave a Rockn’
Joe. In fact, the coffeehouse has been designed specifically for customers
to linger and enjoy the friendly atmosphere, listen to great music and
sample a wide variety of food and drink.
That is why the original Rockn’
Joe in Cranford is a local landmark, always attracting customers from
a 10-mile radius.
“Over the past 12 years,
there has been a lot of trial and error to create the system we now have
in place,” Brennan said. “We offer franchisees a winning method
to create their own landmark businesses. Working under the guidance and
direction of corporate headquarters, with my direct oversight, franchisees
will have everything they need to create a thriving business.”
The centerpiece of Rockn’
Joe is the coffee. Brennan knew his coffeehouse would never succeed without
a signature blend that people will always prefer over the high-end competition.
Along with its secret bean selection and roasting technique, Rockn’
Joe coffees are made with specially-treated water – a key component
for consistently rich, flavorful drip coffee.
For the past five years, Rockn’
Joe’s coffee has clinched the “Golden Cup Award” from
the Specialty Coffee Association of America. Award winners must annually
submit a sample of their water and brewed coffee for laboratory analysis.
