Boys Opens To Record Sales
BAKERSFIELD,
CA -February 11, 2005 – In its furthest expansion
outside of its core area, Riverside, California based Farmer Boys Food
has opened its 46th fastaurant to record first-week sales in Bakersfield.
This newest location, opened January 27, beat the previous opening mark
by approximately ten percent, according to Don Tucker, Director of Franchising.
“This is very
gratifying and a testament to the brand awareness Farmer Boys has built,
even in a market nearly two hundred miles from our home base,” Tucker
says. “From the time our name went up on banners and signage in
the construction phase, it has been apparent that a great many Bakersfield
residents were already familiar with our brand as a result of family and
business trips to the Inland Empire and surrounding counties. They were
happy to see us coming to Bakersfield, and now that we are open, the response
has been overwhelming.”
The Bakersfield Farmer
Boys is the company’s fifth location to open since Thanksgiving.
Others include the first unit in Baldwin Park, the second in Rialto, the
second in Moreno Valley, and the fourth in Riverside. The Bakersfield
location is the first of multiple units that will open there under an
Area Development agreement with Baker Foods, a company owned and operated
by an established Farmer Boys franchisee. Farmer Boys fastaurants feature
over 75 menu items. Popular offerings include award-winning burgers, specialty
sandwiches, freshly-prepared salads, and signature side items such as
monster-sized onion rings and deep-fried zucchini. Made-to-order breakfasts
include three-egg omelets, French toast, hotcakes, biscuits & gravy,
and breakfast burritos.
