DICKEY'S BARBECUE PIT EXPANDS IN WEST TEXAS, OPENS LOCATION IN SNYDER

The Country's Largest Growing Barbecue Chain Rolls Into Western Part Of State

(SNYDER, Texas) Dallas-based Dickey's Barbecue, the largest and fastest-growing barbecue chain in the country, is well-known for their 10 hot pit-smoked barbecue meats, free ice cream and free big yellow cups— with a few locations already sprinkled around West Texas, Dickey's is expanding in the region opening a restaurant in Snyder in July.

Dickey's is growing at a rapid pace opening 40 stores since early 2009.

Forty-six stores are currently in development across the country.

But, as the chain branches outside of Texas, the lone-star state is getting more Dickey's as well. Its latest addition is located at 4509 College Avenue in Snyder.

New Owner/Operator Jay Patel will be the man-power behind this new West Texas store.

"We are always looking for great business opportunities. My partner and I own another location in the South Dallas area and it has done well, so now I am giving another location a shot. I am confident this will be as much of a success as my other partnership with Dickey's has been," Patel said.

Dickey's business model and success around the country has seemed to inspire most of Dickey's new Owner/operators to jump on the barbecue band wagon.

"We have so many new Owner/Operators who are investing with us. In this economy, we are glad people trust us for success. It is a great feeling to help people stand on their own two feet and become their own boss," President of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurant Inc Roland Dickey Jr said.

With the unemployment rate at a frightening high, Dickey's and their entrepreneurial partners are offering jobs to many and expanding when other businesses are shutting down.

"Our progress is surprising to a lot of folks, but it makes sense to us. People want to get out of the rat race," Dickey said. "In turn, these new stores are employing hundreds of people who otherwise would be on unemployment."

The first Dickey's Barbecue opened in 1941 in Dallas, TX.

The original location is still open for business and Dickey's Barbecue is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.

Dickey's only began franchising in 1994, now there are over 122 locations in 23 states.

Even today, Dickey's still slow smokes all of their signature meats overnight in every restaurant.
