FIRKIN GROUP OF PUBS GROWS IN VIRGINIA Locals to Open Three Pubs, first in 2007
Toronto, December 11, 2006 —Firkin
Group of Pubs, the largest and fastest growing English pub chain in
North America, recently inked a multi-unit franchise agreement with
the American Pub Company bringing three pubs to Stafford, Fredericksburg
and Woodbridge, VA. The American Pub Company expects to open their
first pub in Stafford in summer 2007.
“From a business standpoint, the Woodbridge, Stafford and Fredericksburg
areas were perfect for the Firkin concept,” says Frank Rubio, President
of the American Pub Company. “They have a growing population and
continue to attract new thriving businesses. Firkin will fit right in
because they have a fresh spin on the pub segment and locals will enjoy
its laid back atmosphere.”
The Firkin Group of Pubs is one of the most popular neighborhood pub
chains in Canada and recently captured the title of the largest and fastest

Currently, Firkin
has three open locations in Virginia and another four in development
between Newport News and South Riding. Nationally, Firkin has open
pubs in five states—Michigan, New York, Illinois,
Texas, Virginia, Florida and another 200 currently in development throughout
North America.
