WASHINGTON
NATIONALS FANS CONSUME HALF MILLION HOTDOGS DURING 2006 SEASON
Washington, D.C., November 10, 2006—Dominic’s
of New York®, the Washington National’s official hot dog sponsor,
announced today that 558,800 hotdogs were sold in RFK Stadium during
the 2006 baseball season. According to the National Hot Dog and Sausage
Council, that puts RFK stadium on the top ten list of high selling hot
dog stadiums across the country.
“Am I surprised that National’s fans consumed over a half
million Dominic’s of New York ® hot dogs in
one season— absolutely not,” says John Felico, Dominic’s
of New York ® President. “Our hot dogs are
hard to resist, the best in the business and certainly a contender with
the top selling ballparks vendors around the United States.”
Before the 2006 season,
the Hot Dog and Sausage Council's conducted a survey of hot dog and
sausage consumption at major league ballparks in the United States.
It predicted high hot dogs and sausages sales—enough
to stretch from RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. to AT&T Park in San
Francisco.
Dominic’s of New York® is
the official hot dog and sausage sponsor for several national sports
teams and racecar stadiums, including the Washington Nationals, Richmond
Braves, Long Island Ducks, USAR Pro Cup 250 and the Motor Mile Speedway
in Virginia.
