120 Additional locations planned for Penn Station East Coast Subs
(June 15, 2006) Cincinnati, OH – Officials at Penn Station East Coast Subs announced an expansion plan that calls for 120 additional locations. Development markets include: Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC, Nashville, TN, Detroit, MI, Roanoke, WV, Asheville, NC, South Bend, IN and Knoxville, TN. “When we look at population, demographics and the eating away from home trends, these were top ranking markets for growth. Many of our Midwestern markets are completely sold out, we currently have franchise operations in half of these development markets and they are geographically close to other markets where we already have restaurants” said Penn Station President Craig Dunaway. “These additional locations will make Penn Station an even more convenient choice for customers looking for the Best Sandwich in Town” commented Director of Development Mark Partusch. The additional locations will create nearly 3000 new jobs and have a positive economic impact of over $70 million when considering local purchases, wages, sales tax and construction costs. In the Penn Station system franchisees typically sign for 3 to 5 locations and Penn Station is primarily talking to individuals who will commit to multiple locations. “With multi-unit developers this is logically a 3 year plan. With a 20 year history of successful growth and a 99.5% success rate, we are able to offer franchisee partners an appealing system” says Dunaway. Penn Station is unique with an open kitchen, meat is grilled to order, the menu includes fresh cut French fries and hand squeezed lemonade. With a menu of 14 sandwiches the original Philly Cheesesteak continues to be the most popular item on the menu.
Penn Station East Coast Subs was founded in 1985 in Cincinnati, OH and operates 160 locations primarily in the Midwest and Southeast.
