Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches

The single best thing about Jimmy John's from an owner's point of view has to be the people. Then again, we may be a little bit biased. Jimmy has always made it a point to treat people right and his personality has become corporate policy. We've found that when you give people both respect and responsibility, they're more likely to succeed.Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees and Smoothies

The pizza industry is huge– $30+ billion per year with thousands of competitors. However, very few can claim they are like Topper’s Pizza. We have a specific and unique strategy to distinguish ourselves in a competitive marketplace.

In our market, there are two distinct types of competitors. First, the fast food pizza delivery companies that focus on simple menus and quick service. While their service is typically adequate, their product quality and menu variety is often lackluster. The biggest pizza companies in the world can fit into this category.

The second type of competitor is the pizza place that offers a higher end, fresher product. Typically, these companies are sit-down restaurants that offer delivery and carryout service as an afterthought, if at all. The food is good, but the service can be slow, up to one hour or more to receive an order.

On August 9, 1991, Topper’s Pizza was born in Champaign, Illinois, as a unique hybrid company. Our founding vision was to provide customers with the best of both worlds: a unique, high-end pizza menu AND fast, free delivery!

It is challenging to provide both elements of the Topper's Pizza formula at a price that consumers perceive as a good value and are willing to pay. Our ingredients are high quality; our method of hand preparing everything we sell and delivering it to a customer’s door is labor intensive.

We have developed efficient systems that can be easily taught to people interested in owning and operating their own business. Using these tried and tested business principles, we began the Topper’s Pizza Franchise Program in 2000. Our systems allow all of our stores to meet our original high standards for product quality and outstanding customer service. We don’t accept mediocrity in any of our stores; we expect excellence in every aspect of our business.

We set an equally high standard for ourselves when it comes to building new franchise partnerships. We measure the growth of our company by the excellence of each and every store we open. We believe that we have a solid strategy and systemized business formula that will allow our new franchisees to compete with and outperform our largest competitors.

Fresher, Higher Quality Ingredients
Our menu is superior because we use fresh, hand-prepared ingredients. We cut our own vegetables and sell only the highest quality meats and real Wisconsin cheeses. We prepare our dough and sauce fresh, from scratch, in each store’s kitchen.

A Unique Menu with Mass Appeal
The cornerstone of our menu is variety. Our distinct advantage over our competitors is that on average 70% of our sales come from the most unique offerings on our menu – Gourmet Pizzas, Topperstix™ and Grinders. Topper's means quality. We’re not the cheapest pizza place in town; we’re the best!

One of our signature product lines is our California-style, Gourmet Pizzas. Some of our most popular pizzas with our customers include our Taco Topper™, Fajita Chicken and Potato Topper™. Our Gourmet Pizza line gives us a huge competitive advantage in the markets we serve, because we offer the customer so many more choices than just the traditional pepperoni pizza.

Another signature product line is our Topperstix™. These cheesy, awesome Breadstix™ have a loyal, almost cult-like following in every market we enter. They are incredibly popular as a side item in our Single Order, but our famous Topperstix Triples are often ordered as a stand-alone snack or meal. We have several different varieties, such as our Original Breadstix™, Pepperonistix™ and Tacostix™.

Our oven-baked sandwiches, called Grinders, are not your typical wimpy sub sandwiches. They’re loaded with deli meats and real Wisconsin cheeses. Our Grinders are popular with our customers as either a lunch or dinner meal.

Traditional pizzas, Buffalo wings, potato chips and cold drinks round out our menu.

Thank you for your interest in our company. I hope you’ll consider joining the Topper’s Pizza family.
